"Dressing the mothers of the brides"

What do the mothers of two brides wear to a lesbian wedding?

Traditional etiquette calls for the mother of the bride (MOB) to buy her dress first and then let the mother of the groom know what she plans to wear. This is done to avoid matching dresses and clashing colors or styles. That advice is none too helpful in your situation, so here’s what I recommend: if you’ve already been introduced to the other MOB, reach out to her. If not, you can ask your daughters to play intermediary, passing along the necessary details. (And it really doesn’t matter which of you initiates the conversation.)

Keep in mind that the ceremony is about the brides; whatever you wear should not detract or distract from your daughter and daughter-in-law-to-be. Finally, it’s not a competition between the MOBs (the same applies to the mothers of two grooms).
